WHO:Students with special needs attending Monarch Academy at Morgan’s Wonderland and Institute of Texan Cultures (ITC) visitors.

WHAT: “Texas, Our Texas!,” a special art exhibit created by Monarch Academy students.  It tells the story of the Lone Star State through Texas symbols and the students’ favorite aspects of Texan culture.      

WHEN: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, March 2, Texas Independence Day.

WHERE: Institute of Texan Cultures, UTSA HemisFair Park Campus, 801 E. César Chavez Blvd.

WHY: To give Monarch Academy students a creative way to learn about Texas history.  The school for students with special needs ages 12 to 24 is located next to the unique, popular and completely wheelchair-accessible Morgan’s Wonderland theme park in Northeast San Antonio.
